Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kiet Vo Minh (ranked 4274 p4p, 355 weight class) and Gumby Lane (ranked 4192 p4p, 351 weight class). Vo Minh kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Metalingus. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vo Minh throws a poor cross that misses
and Lane counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vo Minh slips a straight right by Lane.
Vo Minh misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vo Minh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lane sprawls well. Lane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vo Minh gets slowly back to his feet.

Kiet Vo Minh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vo Minh shoots for a double leg takedown but Lane sprawls well. He's pushed Vo Minh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lane appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Vo Minh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lane tries to avoid it but Vo Minh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lane to the ground. Lane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vo Minh throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lane tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vo Minh is in Lane's guard.
Lane wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vo Minh manages to pass to side control.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lane has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Vo Minh is on him like a limpet, forcing Lane back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kiet Vo Minh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
