Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Madik MBaku (ranked 893 p4p, 109 weight class) and Jack Steel (ranked 1607 p4p, 178 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jack Steel enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Madik MBaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Steel!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MBaku uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steel.
MBaku slips a jab from Steel.
MBaku throws a sloppy body shot
and Steel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between MBaku's hands.
We've been informed that Steel has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Jack Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MBaku bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Steel! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Steel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MBaku. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Madik MBaku has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steel is rocked!

MBaku drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and MBaku jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
MBaku is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Steel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

MBaku tries to free his leg and advance position but Steel is retaining full guard.
Steel wants to get back to his feet but MBaku is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Steel pulls MBaku in close to prevent any damage.
MBaku controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
MBaku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

MBaku thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Madik MBaku.
I think Steel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jack Steel decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
