We've been hearing reports that Perez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.#CL# Perez takes the fight into the clinch. A body shot lands from Perez.
Poulter misses with the head strike.
#BC# Perez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Poulter throws a shot from downtown. Perez moves away and avoids it. Perez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. #CL# Perez clinches up with Poulter and pushes him back against the cage. Poulter throws a punch but it's blocked by Perez. Perez lands an uppercut. A frustrated look appears on Poulter's face as he tries to break the clinch. A short body shot lands from Perez as the two fighters clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poulter stops a takedown attempt from Perez.
Poulter swings wildly with an uppercut but Perez uses good head movement to avoid it. Perez leaning his opponent against the cage.#TD# Perez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Perez connects with a nice short shot to Poulter's temple. Perez wants to control but Poulter is keeping him busy. #SUB# Perez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Poulter could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Perez has cracked it and Poulter is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Perez!

Poulter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mercer walks into a straight right hand from Poulter. A right-left combo lands from Mercer. Poulter throws a poor cross that misses
and Mercer counters with a stiff right hand. Poulter get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Poulter stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Mercer runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alex Mercer! A relieved looking Alex Mercer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

#R1# Queen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Poulter misses with a hook
and Poulter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Poulter misses with a right hand and Queen counters with an outside leg kick.
Queen scores with a nice head shot. Queen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. No joy there for Poulter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Queen lands a jab to Poulter's midsection. Queen staying out of range there. Poulter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Queen. Queen obviously looking to wear him down.
Poulter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Queen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Poulter has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Queen wobbles Poulter with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Queen dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Poulter to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Poulter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Perez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Poulter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Perez has him pressed against the cage. Perez displaying some good clinch control by pressing Poulter up against the cage. Perez lands a body punch. #BC# Perez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#TD# Perez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB# Perez is working for a kimura but Poulter is defending it quite comfortably.

Poulter wants to clinch and Lopette counters with a leg kick. Poulter takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Lopette lands a really nice looking cross but Poulter seems unphased.
Lopette dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Poulter misses with a jab to the body

Poulter misses with a lunging right hand
and Lopette counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Poulter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lopette can pounce on him.

and Lopette counters with a nice leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lopette throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Poulter on the side of the head. A big left from Poulter misses. Lopette connects with a leg kick. Poulter looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Lopette connects with a body shot. Poulter walks into a left hand. Both fighters circling a little - Lopette finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Lopette moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Lopette throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Poulter.#ROC# Poulter is rocked! Lopette dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Poulter is still on wobbly legs! Can Lopette finish him? Poulter looks winded! Lopette cracks Poulter with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Poulter falls to his knees and Lopette doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

The ref is looking closely - Poulter is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Poulter is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Poulter takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Barbosa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Poulter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Barbosa!
#TD# Poulter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Barbosa to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Poulter fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Poulter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rowanda connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Poulter scrambles back to his feet. Rowanda scores with a jab to the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rowanda darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A jab from Rowanda finds it's way through Poulter's defenses. #ROC# Poulter is rocked! Poulter bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Rowanda comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Poulter falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Poulter was out before he hit the floor!

Poulter walks into a left hand. A big left from Poulter misses. Kenardly has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Stark Combat Center in the buildup to the fight. A slapping leg kick lands for Kenardly.
Poulter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kenardly doesn't seem bothered though. Kenardly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kenardly with a nice cross. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Still in half guard, Browne seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Browne is pressing down on Poulter's thigh, looking to free his foot.
