Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Michael Johnson and Nichi Hong. Hong has chosen Hong Entrance Song as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Nichi Hong! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Ron Honeybunn.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hong pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch. Hong wants a takedown but no success here.
Hong turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hong manages to end up in side control. Hong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hong tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hong defends it easily. Johnson has his hands on Hong's head, controlling the position. Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Hong sits in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson wants to get back to full guard.

Johnson staying out of range there. Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mendes. Michael Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mendes just stands there and leans against the cage.

Our sources have told us that Burns has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Burns tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it. Johnson misses with a short punch on the inside. Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Burns won't allow it.
Burns throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms. Burns pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Burns fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
