State Jr. is working hard here to advance position.#SUB# State Jr. drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and State Jr. jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. State Jr. wants to pass the guard but Ondahl is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. State Jr. trying to control but Ondahl is working from the bottom. Ondahl throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
#T1# State Jr. looking to pass the guard. State Jr. controlling from the top position. State Jr. tries to free his leg and advance position but Ondahl is retaining full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. State Jr. passes easily into side control. Nice work. State Jr. is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? Ondahl looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. State Jr. lands the left hand.#TD# Ondahl gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows State Jr. to score an easy takedown into full guard. State Jr. stands up over Ondahl, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. #T3# State Jr. looking to pass the guard. State Jr. postures up and lands a big shot to Ondahl's brow. State Jr. trying to control the position from guard on top but Ondahl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. State Jr. stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ondahl swivels though and keeps the full guard. State Jr. works a leg free and moves into half guard. #T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. State Jr. is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. State Jr. tries to pass to full mount but Ondahl defends it. State Jr. controlling the action here.#SUB# State Jr. is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ondahl defends it well. State Jr. keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# State Jr. is working for a kimura but Ondahl is defending it quite comfortably.

#R1# Thomas scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ondahl tries to bum rush Thomas with a series of wild strikes but Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've been told by Thomas's head coaches at River's Edge Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.#CL# Thomas clinches up against the cage. Thomas misses with a shot to the kidneys.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. #BC# Thomas manages to break the clinch.
Ondahl misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thomas throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ondahl. Derrick Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice body punch from Thomas. Ondahl shoots in looking for a takedown but Thomas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ondahl's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thomas delivers a nice body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thomas tests Ondahl's chin there with a solid looking shot. Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Thomas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Ondahl loads up on a big right hand but Thomas slips the punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ondahl looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Thomas finish him?

Thomas is motioning to the referee to let Ondahl up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Thomas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ondahl.
Thomas is looking to clinch. Ondahl seems to have recovered his senses. Ondahl circles away from the clinch attempt and Ondahl counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ondahl takes one to the chin there. Thomas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ondahl looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ondahl lands with a slapping head kick. Thomas blocks a head kick by Ondahl.

#KD# Thomas drops Ondahl with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ondahl looks back up at him and smiles so Thomas waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
#CL# Thomas gets a clinch. Thomas avoids the elbow strike from Ondahl, against the cage.
Thomas lands an uppercut. Ondahl has Thomas pressed against the cage, preventing Thomas from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ondahl looks to throw an elbow but misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.#KD# Thomas drops Ondahl with a big knee straight up the middle! Ondahl is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! Thomas is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Thomas throws a monster overhand right that drops Ondahl! Thomas follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ondahl avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Demayo misses with a body shot
and Ondahl counters with a head kick. That will keep Demayo thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Demayo throws a left and a right that both miss
#KD2# and Ondahl counters with a crisp one two that drops Demayo! Ondahl thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Demayo to his feet! Demayo is in big trouble!#ROC2# Demayo is rocked! Demayo tries to get into range but Ondahl steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Demayo! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Ondahl scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Klas Ondahl! Klas Ondahl really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Milwaukee's Best 160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

A decent looking cross lands there for State Jr.. Ondahl misses with a few strikes there.
Ondahl fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ondahl pulls out of a head kick attempt.

State Jr. changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ondahl tries to avoid it but State Jr. manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ondahl to the ground. Ondahl escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ondahl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. State Jr. is looking to counter with a shot to the body. State Jr. throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ondahl takes a jab right on the kisser.
State Jr. rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ondahl moves out of range and avoids them all easily.#T1# Ondahl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ondahl throws a sloppy head kick letting State Jr. counter with a right hand. State Jr. thuds his right hand into Ondahl's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.#ROC# Ondahl is rocked! State Jr. dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ondahl. That did some damage! State Jr. lands a lovely overhand right. Ondahl is still on wobbly legs! Can State Jr. finish him? State Jr. throws a hook but Ondahl blocks it. Ondahl seems to have recovered his senses. Ondahl was covering up waiting for the punch and State Jr. finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ondahl wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. #SUB# State Jr. is looking for a kimura but Ondahl is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for State Jr. to get the leverage. Ondahl tries to kick State Jr. off but State Jr. keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. #SUB# State Jr. is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ondahl is just riding it out for now. State Jr. eventually gives up the hold. #SUB# State Jr. is trying to work for a kimura but Ondahl is defending well.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ondahl's guard. Ondahl tries to kick State Jr. off but State Jr. keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ondahl is staying active underneath State Jr., who seems content to just control the action from this position. State Jr. is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ondahl reverses the position - he's now on top in State Jr.'s guard. State Jr. seems keen to control Ondahl's posture.#SUB# State Jr. has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ondahl can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. #SUB# State Jr. is looking for a triangle but Ondahl pushes his legs off easily.

Gunner State Jr. dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
