Maiden lands with a nice body kick. Maiden misses with a body kick. Yakimyuk tests Maiden's chin there with a solid looking shot. Maiden tries for a takedown but Yakimyuk sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Eddy Maiden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maiden attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Yakimyuk throws a big counter combination but Maiden scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Yakimyuk misses with an uppercut. Maiden saw that one coming. Maiden misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A lazy body kick from Maiden and Yakimyuk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fighters circling - Yakimyuk throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yakimyuk lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This has been an exciting period of action! Maiden looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Maiden misses with a low kick. Yakimyuk connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maiden momentarily.

Maiden gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Maiden apologises and we restart here on the feet.

A relieved looking Roman Yakimyuk thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Duff trying to control the action but Yakimyuk is working from the bottom. Yakimyuk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Duff wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Duff in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. You can see the frustration on Yakimyuk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yakimyuk tries to buck Duff off but Duff is having none of it. #R1# Parks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yakimyuk. Parks slips under a jab. Parks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Parks was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Parks moves out of range of the strikes. Yakimyuk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yakimyuk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Yakimyuk scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Parks blocks a low kick nicely. Yakimyuk takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#CUT# It looks like Roman Yakimyuk has been cut. Yakimyuk pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Parks cracks Yakimyuk with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Parks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Yakimyuk. This has been an exciting period of action! Yakimyuk looks to land a body kick but Parks moved away.
