and Potapenko counters with a straight right hand. Potapenko swats away the attempt to clinch by Stanislav. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Potapenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Stanislav is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Stanislav pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Silva shoots and misses and Stanislav counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Silva off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Stanislav follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Silva was out before he hit the floor.

#R1# Hanes wants to clinch up but Stanislav keeps it at a distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Stanislav works over Hanes's head and body with a nice combination. Left hook, right uppercut from Hanes. #CUT# It looks like Adam Stanislav has been cut. Hanes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stanislav manages to avoid it. Hanes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hanes tries to bum rush Stanislav with a series of wild strikes but Stanislav uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hanes tries for a takedown but Stanislav sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Stanislav keeps the fight on the outside. Hanes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hanes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stanislav pinned against the cage. Stanislav gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The fight stays on the outside here - Hanes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hanes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hanes misses with the combination.

Stanislav closes the distance and lands a one-two. Theyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stanislav slaps away a takedown attempt from Theyer, before circling back to the center of the mat. Stanislav's coach down at Power Quest was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stanislav's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Theyer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Theyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
