Welker cracks Lapu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Welker goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lapu scores with a hook to the body. Welker takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lapu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lapu tries a head kick but it misses.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lapu.
Lapu ducks under a wild hook from Welker.
Welker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lapu throws out the jab.
The fighters circle, before Lapu throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Welker's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Lapu lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Lapu Lapu!

Ioannou Ii slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Welker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ioannou Ii was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Welker will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ioannou Ii takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Some bone on bone action there as Welker checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A cross from Ioannou Ii lands.
Welker throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Lukas Ioannou Ii has been cut.
Ioannou Ii tries a head kick but it misses.
Ioannou Ii listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Ioannou Ii on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Welker blocks a low kick nicely.
Ioannou Ii loads up on a big right hand but Welker slips the punch.
Ioannou Ii moves out of range of the body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Welker throws a lazy right hand but Ioannou Ii sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ioannou Ii tries to counter by clinching up but Welker breaks away and moves out of range.
A head kick by Ioannou Ii - that's a beauty! Welker is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Ioannou Ii can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Kiko swings widly with a right hand
and Welker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kiko with a jab.
Kiko takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Kiko takes a swing at Welker's ribcage but misses.
Kiko pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kiko throws an overhand right that lands on Welker's shoulder, as Welker tries to avoid the shot.
Kiko sets himself, and Welker steps forward looking for the clinch! Kiko avoids it this time.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB#
Kiko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Welker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kiko wants to improve his position but instead Welker has moved into half guard.
Welker is nestled in close to Kiko, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Welker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kiko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Welker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kiko is rocked!
Welker lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kiko quite badly. Kiko pulls Welker in close trying to recover. Welker postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kiko on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kiko doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Whisper Welker!
After winning the bout, Whisper Welker thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Welker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Aliev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Aliev has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Aliev tries to break the clinch but Welker is controlling the position.
Welker lands a body shot in the clinch.
Welker lands with a left to the head.
Aliev can't break the clinch.

Aliev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A slow jab from Aliev misses its intended target.
Welker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Aliev momentarily.
Nice shot lands for Aliev.
Aliev drops his hands momentarily and Welker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Welker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Welker is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Welker gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Welker gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Welker apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Welker explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Aliev shoots for a double leg takedown but Welker sprawls well. He's pushed Aliev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Aliev takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
