Rutten needs to keep his hands up - Gruzdev had a free shot at his head there. Gruzdev throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Gruzdev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gruzdev. We've been told by Rutten's head coaches at Vendetta Alliance London Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Vipunen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. We've been informed that Vipunen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Rutten slaps away a takedown attempt from Vipunen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rutten throws a quick counter kick to the body but Vipunen avoids it. Vipunen fails with the takedown and Rutten connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#CUT# It looks like Antero Vipunen has been cut. Sebastiaan Rutten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antero Vipunen. Vipunen misses with a left hand and Rutten counters with a solid body kick. Vipunen looks winded! Vipunen avoids the head kick by Rutten.

Rutten is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Vipunen flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Vipunen is out cold! Rutten holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Kagonbo throws out a loose jab but Rutten uses good head movement to avoid it. Rutten takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sloppy strikes from Kagonbo. Those never looked like landing. Rutten counters with a body kick. Rutten on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Kagonbo misses with a head kick.

Kagonbo fails to land with a series of punches.

Rutten has had enough of the clinch but Karelin keeps him there for the moment. Karelin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Karelin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Karelin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rutten's efforts to push away. Karelin gets through Rutten's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rutten keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

I was talking to Johnstown's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Rutten struggles to land a body shot inside as Johnstown controls his hands.
