Riggs using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Stern has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stern connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.#CL# Riggs moves into the clinch. Riggs dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stern. Stern creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Riggs's defenses. #CUT2# It looks like Hendo Riggs has been cut. Stern looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Stern lands an elbow that stopped Riggs in his tracks for a moment. #BC# Riggs breaks the clinch.

Stern moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stern lands a right hook to the body.
Riggs displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stern throws out the jab. #T1# Riggs tries to bum rush Stern with a series of wild strikes but Stern uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Stern throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Riggs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Riggs tries to clinch but Stern is having none of it. Stern looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Riggs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Stern fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Stern lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Stern is looking to slow Riggs down with leg kicks. #CL# Riggs darts in and clinches Stern up against the cage.#BC2# Stern breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Stern lands with a nice body punch. #KD2# Stern feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Riggs sprawling to the canvas! Riggs rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Stern finish him?!
#ROC2# Riggs is rocked! Dick Stern is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stern connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Oh Riggs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Stern moves in close and cracks Riggs with a massive right hand! Riggs, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Stern!

Smiles working Riggs over with knees to the body. I was talking to Smiles's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Riggs looks winded! Smiles taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Smiles with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
The referee is keeping an eye on Smiles - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Riggs tries to work over Smiles's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Smiles with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Smiles crunches a lovely knee into Riggs's ribcage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smiles landing knees to the head.

Smiles jerks Riggs's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Riggs drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Smiles goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Smiles because Riggs was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Big J Smiles! A less than humble Big J Smiles misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

#R1# Riggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wilson moves away.#KD# Riggs lands a big head kick that sends Wilson tumbling to the mat! Riggs takes a step backwards and waves Wilson back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC# Wilson is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Shane Wilson has been cut. Wilson is holding his hands too far apart here. Riggs throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Wilson is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hendo Riggs! A very excited looking Hendo Riggs made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

#R1# Riggs cracks the inside of Kalashnikov's front leg. A good leg kick by Riggs. Riggs cracks Kalashnikov with a right hand to the side of the head.#CUT2# It looks like Artur Kalashnikov has been cut. Kalashnikov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Riggs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Riggs paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.#ROC2# Kalashnikov is rocked! Kalashnikov walks straight into a right hand from Riggs - that's dropped him! Riggs jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kalashnikov from any more punishment! Kalashnikov complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hendo Riggs! A relieved looking Hendo Riggs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.#KD# Armstrong drops Riggs with a beautiful combination! Riggs stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Armstrong is looking for the KO!#ROC# Riggs is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Hendo Riggs has been cut. Armstrong throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Riggs is still on wobbly legs! Can Armstrong finish him? We've been told by Armstrong's head coaches at Brutal Force Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Riggs is holding his hands too far apart here. Armstrong throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Riggs is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Riggs looks to throw the jab but Backlund is out of range. Backlund slips under a jab from Riggs. Backlund fires out a quick counter leg kick but Riggs just manages to avoid it. Riggs looks to score with a jab to the body but Backlund is just out of range. Backlund has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Riggs lands an overhand right. Riggs scores with a hook. Riggs's coach down at THC playhouse was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Riggs's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Good leg kick by Riggs there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Riggs holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Riggs is trying to get back to full guard. Backlund moves into full mount! Riggs won't be happy about that! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Riggs tries to lock up and control but Backlund gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bob Backlund will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Backlund shoots in for a double leg but Riggs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Backlund has a takedown stuffed. Backlund throws a leg kick but Riggs checks it. Riggs connects with a good right hand that stumbles Backlund. Backlund circles away out of range and recomposes himself.#CUT2# It looks like Bob Backlund has been cut. Bob Backlund is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Backlund blocks a low kick nicely. It appears Backlund was looking to counter with a kick there. Riggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing. As Riggs looks to move away, Backlund throws a big counter combo but Riggs just gets out of the way.#KD2# Riggs lands a big right hand that sends Backlund crashing to the mat! Riggs stays standing though and waves Backlund back to his feet!#ROC2# Backlund is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Backlund switches off momentarily and Riggs cracks him with a monster right hand! Backlund topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Riggs dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Riggs!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hendo Riggs! After winning the bout, Hendo Riggs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
