Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Manny Puno (ranked 2535 p4p, 240 weight class) and Raiymbek Batyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 5 losses; Manny Puno! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Raiymbek Batyr! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Puno moves into range and clinches up with Batyr. Puno is looking for a takedown. Puno tries to pull guard but Batyr forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Puno has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Batyr regains guard immediately. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Puno (2) vs (0) Batyr Puno trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Puno passes Batyr's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Puno keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Puno looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puno performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Batyr is looking to control Puno's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Batyr avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Puno in particular looking to stall. Puno continues to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puno has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Batyr keeps control of the position for the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Puno controlling the action here. Puno is pressing down on Batyr's thigh, looking to free his foot. Batyr is holding on for now. Puno content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Puno wants to pass the guard but Batyr is defending well. Puno is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Batyr is pressing down on Puno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Puno wants to pass the guard but Batyr is keeping the position. Puno trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Batyr manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Puno (2) vs (2) Batyr A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Puno holds on and takes a little breather.

Puno is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Batyr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Batyr is fighting to break Puno's control of his arms but Puno is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Puno tries to land a sweep but no joy. Puno bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Batyr's guard. That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Batyr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Puno wants to pass to mount but Batyr is defending the position. Puno controlling the action here. Puno looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Puno controlling the action here. Batyr is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. This is a sustained period of stalling by Puno.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Puno wants to free his trapped foot but Batyr is holding on for dear life with his legs. Puno controlling the pace.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Puno is thwarting Batyr's attempts to control the position. Puno stalling. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

#TD2# Batyr tries to sprawl but Huchkov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Batyr controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Huchkov looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Batyr connecting with a few gentle strikes. Huchkov working the head and body with strikes. It looks like Huchkov is going to stand back up.
Huchkov thows a huge punch but Batyr dodges it nicely.
Batyr slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Huchkov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Batyr is proving hard to escape from. #SUB# Batyr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Huchkov is aware though and is defending well. Batyr wants to sweep here but Huchkov controlling him for the moment. #SUB2# Huchkov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huchkov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. #T1##SUB# Batyr working for a triangle but Huchkov defends it easily.
Huchkov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Batyr is proving hard to escape from. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huchkov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Huchkov throws a big right hand that misses. Huchkov wants to pass the guard but Batyr is keeping the position. Batyr is trying to control the position but Huchkov postures up. Batyr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Huchkov's guard. #REVR# Batyr throws a big elbow that misses. Huchkov is pulling down on Batyr's head. It's preventing any offense from Batyr, at least for the moment. Huchkov lands a decent punch to the body there. Batyr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.#T2# The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Batyr throws a strike but Huchkov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVB# Huchkov stopping the sweep attempt from Batyr. Huchkov wants to get up but he can't break Batyr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SU2# Huchkov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Batyr, up you get! Huchkov throws a jab but it's blocked by Batyr. #CL2# Huchkov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Huchkov scores with a shoulder strike. A nice right hand lands inside from Batyr. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Batyr lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Batyr looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Huchkov throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Batyr counters with a lovely straight right hand!#CUT# It looks like Matel Huchkov has been cut. Huchkov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
#T3##TD# Batyr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.#ES2# Huchkov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Batyr keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Batyr. Batyr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Huchkov's efforts to push away. Batyr tries to work over Huchkov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A head punch blocked on the inside by Batyr. Huchkov swings wildly with an uppercut but Batyr uses good head movement to avoid it. Batyr tries for a takedown but Huchkov manages to get underhooks.
Batyr throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Batyr wants a takedown.

The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Huchkov stuns Batyr with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Batyr has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Huchkov.#CL2# Huchkov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Huchkov in side control lands a decent elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Batyr manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Batyr is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Batyr throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. #SUB# Batyr wants to work for an arm triangle but Huchkov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Huchkov jabs Batyr to the body, keeping him at a distance. Matel Huchkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Huchkov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Huchkov looks to land a combination. Batyr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Huchkov misses with the combination.
#T2# Batyr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Huchkov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Huchkov has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Batyr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Huchkov raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Batyr gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Huchkov gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matel Huchkov! Matel Huchkov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

enabling Hewitt to counter with a crisp jab. Hewitt throws an ugly left hook that misses

Raiymbek Batyr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Batyr loads up on a big right hand but Hewitt slips the punch. Batyr seems to have recovered his senses. A decent looking cross lands there for Hewitt. Batyr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hewitt has time to react. Hewitt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Batyr swings widly with a right hand
enabling Hewitt to counter with a crisp jab. Batyr throws a combination that misses and Hewitt counters with a huge left! Batyr is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hewitt isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Batyr from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hewitt!

#R1# Batyr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sten has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym in the buildup to the fight. Sten throws a head kick that misses #CL2# and Batyr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Batyr. Sten gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Batyr.
Sten doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sten tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Batyr swings wildly with an uppercut but Sten uses good head movement to avoid it. Sten misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Batyr.
Sten lands a good knee to the midsection. Batyr won't want to take too many of those. Batyr misses with the head strike.
Sten pushes Batyr back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Sten looking to throw knees to the head but Batyr is blocking nicely.

Batyr not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sten is refusing to be controlled, as Batyr sits in half guard. Batyr missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Batyr lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. #ROC2# Sten is rocked! Nice strikes from Batyr there. Oh Sten is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sten is looking for a sweep. Batyr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Batyr scores with a big shot! Sten's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Sten! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

#R1# Batyr misses the shot to the body. Batyr feints a jab promting Pozar to slip. Batyr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pozar slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#CUT# It looks like Pozar Pozar has been cut. A punch combination from Pozar misses. #CL2# Pozar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Batyr throws a head punch that misses. Batyr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pozar is defending well for now. Batyr gets through Pozar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Batyr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.#TD# Batyr has clasped his hands together around Pozar's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Batyr fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Batyr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pozar sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Pozar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Batyr scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pozar to see if he's OK. Pozar is positioning himself to get back to half guard. #SUB# Batyr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pozar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. #T1##SU# Batyr decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pozar to his feet. #KD# Batyr lands a left and a right that send Pozar crashing to the mat, dazed. Batyr thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#ROC# Pozar is rocked! Batyr grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Pozar takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Batyr cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Fantana fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Batyr manages to avoid it. Fantana throws a shot to the body.
Batyr throws a body shot but no joy. A looping hook to the body misses from Fantana. Batyr does a little dance to reset his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Batyr takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Fantana lands a nice looking body shot.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Sodium prevents Batyr from getting back to his feet. Sodium trying to control the position from guard on top but Batyr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sodium stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Batyr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Batyr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sodium has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
