Eggman shoots for a double leg takedown but Hughs sprawls well. He's pushed Eggman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Eggman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughs.
Eggman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hughs sprawls well. Hughs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eggman gets slowly back to his feet. A little feinted left hand from Starbowski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Eggman tries to clinch up. Starbowski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Eggman throws a sloppy head kick and Starbowski moves out of range easily. Eggman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice jab there from Starbowski. Horrible takedown attempt by Eggman or perhaps it was just good defense by Chantha, which made it look bad. Bun Chantha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Eggman.#CL2# Eggman closes the distance and pushes Chantha back into the cage. A shot in the inside from Chantha. Eggman wants to take the fight to the mat but Chantha manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Chantha scores with a nice hook to the head. Eggman misses with a hook to the ribs.
I was talking to Chantha's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eggman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chantha is defending well. A shot in the inside from Chantha. Chantha gets through Eggman's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Eggman covers up and Camble unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

#TD# Slater shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Eggman napping and manages to drive through into side control! Eggman takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Slater lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Eggman down.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Slater grinds an elbow into Eggman's temple. Eggman is still in real trouble! Can Slater finish him? Slater content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Slater can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
