Laiho has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hugs & Kisses in the buildup to the fight. Laiho looks to land a left hand but Piper moved out of range nicely. Despite the aggression on Piper's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Piper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Laiho. Piper avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Piper lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Piper has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. Genesis Piper spoke after the fight, saying 'My debut in Future Fighting did not go as planned but setbacks are a part of the game and I'm the type off guy who learns from his mistakes. I'll be back for sure'.

Piper let out a lung full of air as it connected. Piper wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but West has him pressed against the cage. Piper looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. West scores with a knee to the head.

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kristapoff on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Piper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It seemed like Kristapoff was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Piper throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kristapoff on the side of the head. Piper scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
