#R1# Jiannotti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nathan misses with a two punch combination.
#TD2# Nathan looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jiannotti is breathing heavily. Nathan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Nathan tries to free his leg and advance position but Jiannotti is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nathan keeps trying to improve his position. Nathan content to stall in guard here. Jiannotti definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.#T1# Nathan lands a couple of decent looking shots.#SUB# Jiannotti looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nathan passes into side control.
The referee asks Nathan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nathan prefers to stall for the moment though.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jiannotti takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Nathan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jiannotti to see if he's OK. Jiannotti trying to remain calm as Nathan controls from the top position. Nathan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Nathan in side control lands a decent elbow. Nathan is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jiannotti will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Nathan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.#T3##SUB2# Nathan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nathan controlling the position. Let's hope that Nathan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Nathan wants to stand but Jiannotti is controlling his arm.#T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nathan tries to advance to mount but can't. Nathan in side control, throwing shots but Jiannotti defends. Nathan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nathan is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jiannotti will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Nathan working the ground and pound from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nathan tries to stand but Jiannotti is controlling his head. Jiannotti trying to remain calm as Nathan controls from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Nathan dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. #R2# Nathan takes a swing at Jiannotti's ribcage but misses. Jiannotti throws a body punch but Nathan moves out of range. Nathan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nathan misses with an attempted mid kick.

Nathan throws a sloppy head kick and Jiannotti moves out of range easily. Jiannotti seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.#TD# Jiannotti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nathan to the mat! Nathan manages to get full guard. Nathan is adopting a defensive guard. Jiannotti with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nathan wants to stand but Jiannotti is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nathan controlling Jiannotti's posture. #T1# Nathan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nathan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#TD2# Nathan gets a takedown into half guard. Jiannotti pushes Nathan off but Nathan dives into side control.
Nathan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Nathan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nathan wants to stand but Jiannotti is controlling his arm. Nathan trying to control the position but Jiannotti is working away. #T3# Jiannotti being controlled for a moment. Jiannotti is looking for a sweep. Nathan wants to control but Jiannotti is keeping him busy. #SUB2# Nathan is trying to get an arm triangle but Jiannotti is defending well. #T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nathan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jiannotti down.
Jiannotti is not content to let Nathan control the position. Nathan is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nathan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. #SUB2# Nathan has an Americana. Jiannotti didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nathan is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nathan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
