Maguire tries to break the clinch but McConnell is controlling the position. Maguire wants to get back to striking at distance but McConnell won't allow it.

McConnell ducks under a wild hook from Yo Girl. Yo Girl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McConnell tries to counter with a clinch but Yo Girl shakes him off and moves away. Yo Girl takes a swing at McConnell's ribcage but misses. A slow jab from Yo Girl misses its intended target. McConnell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McConnell closes the distance and clinches up with Yo Girl, looking for a takedown. McConnell pushes Yo Girl against the cage but Yo Girl circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. McConnell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yo Girl finds it's way round the side to connect with McConnell's head. and McConnell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McConnell connects with a body shot that sends Kissell's belly button to the back. Kissell swings for the body but McConnell moves out of range.
McConnell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
McConnell misses with a double jab.
McConnell misses the jab. McConnell misses the shot to the body. McConnell misses with a looping left. McConnell throws an overhand right that lands on Kissell's shoulder, as Kissell tries to avoid the shot. McConnell throws a series of punches but Kissell moves out of range. Kissell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Despite the aggression on McConnell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Kissell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on McConnell if he has to take too many more of those.
