and Hughes counters with a left and a right that stings Hayes. Hayes moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Hayes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hughes misses with a looping left. Hayes lands with a hook. Hughes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hayes throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hughes counters with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hayes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Hayes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Elwood tries to bum rush Hayes with a series of wild strikes but Hayes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Elwood tries to clinch but Hayes moves out of range. Elwood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hayes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Elwood. That did some damage! Hayes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Elwood. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Elwood pushes Hayes away with a front kick. Elwood throws a hook to the side of Hayes's head but Hayes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hayes digs a good body shot into Elwood's ribs. Both fighters circling a little - Hayes finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Hayes lands with a cross. Hayes cracks the inside of Tuncer's front leg. Tuncer throws out a loose jab but Hayes uses good head movement to avoid it. Hayes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Tuncer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hayes. Tuncer seems to have recovered his senses. Tuncer stalks Hayes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hayes's face. Hayes staggers backwards, shaken. Hayes moves out of range as Tuncer strikes. A combination from Tuncer does no damage. Hayes lands a leg kick. Hayes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tonon on the side of the head. Hayes scores with a jab to the head.
#T1# Nice shot lands for Tonon. Hayes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tonon. Tonon missing with a left hand there. Hayes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hayes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tonon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hayes scores with a jab. Tonon acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Tonon moves forwards but Hayes connects with a nice, crisp jab. Hayes throws a nice head kick!

Tonon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hayes looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Hayes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hayes buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Tonon stalks Hayes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hayes's face. Hayes staggers backwards, shaken. Hayes misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tonon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Tonon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.#ROC2# Hayes is rocked! Tonon lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Hayes up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Tonon from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Hayes's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Hakuin Ekaku Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD# Ekaku Jr dives in and scores a takedown into Hayes's guard. Ekaku Jr trying to control but Hayes is working from the bottom. Hayes managing to control the position. Hayes is trying to control the position but Ekaku Jr postures up. Hayes wants to get back to his feet but Ekaku Jr is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ekaku Jr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ekaku Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ekaku Jr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ekaku Jr throws a looping overhand right but Hayes ducks down to avoid it. Hayes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Hayes tries to clinch but Ekaku Jr is having none of it. #TD# Ekaku Jr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hayes's guard. Hayes wants to stand up but Ekaku Jr is controlling him. Hayes controls Ekaku Jr momentarily but Ekaku Jr frees himself. Ekaku Jr wants to control from the top but Hayes keeps moving. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hayes looking to control.

Hayes seems a little lost for a moment, as Ekaku Jr dominates the positioning.#T4# Ekaku Jr scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hayes to see if he's OK. Hayes is looking to regain half guard here but Ekaku Jr keeps moving and retains side control. Hayes can't do much from the bottom here. Hayes gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hayes gets back to full guard.
Ekaku Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Hayes is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ekaku Jr looking to sit in guard and control but Hayes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVB# The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ekaku Jr lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR# Ekaku Jr is working Hayes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hakuin Ekaku Jr dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Ekaku Jr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hayes is fending him off so far but Ekaku Jr persists. Nope, Hayes circles away and we're back to standing. Hayes feints the counter takedown. Ekaku Jr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hayes can do to turn this around? Hayes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ekaku Jr throws a leg kick that misses. Hayes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A little feinted left hand from Ekaku Jr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Horrible takedown attempt by Hayes or perhaps it was just good defense by Ekaku Jr, which made it look bad. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hayes is defended easily by Ekaku Jr. Hakuin Ekaku Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Hayes. Nice shot by Ekaku Jr. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ekaku Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.

More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Ekaku Jr can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
