Gustav darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Gustav scores with a decent looking hook. Gracie lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Gustav is just out of range. No joy there for Gracie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gracie lands a jab to Dhillon's midsection. Dhillon throws a right and a left that both miss. Gracie throws a push kick but Dhillon slaps the foot to one side. We've been informed that Dhillon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Dhillon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
#CUT2# It looks like Nicolas Gracie has been cut. Dhillon lands with a slapping head kick. Dhillon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nidhish Dhillon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie swings for the body but Dhillon moves out of range.

Dhillon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie throws a head kick that misses. Dhillon moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A jab from Gracie finds it's way through Dhillon's defenses. Gracie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dhillon moves out of range as Gracie strikes. Dhillon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Dhillon misses with a wild combination.

and Juricic counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie. Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Juricic swivels and escapes. Gracie misses with a double jab
letting Juricic counter with a right hand. Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Juricic takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Juricic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it. Juricic swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Juricic takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Juricic fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Juricic looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Juricic's corner calls for a 1-2. Juricic obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Gracie scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Gracie has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blackstar Striking Academy in the buildup to the fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Colombu has his hands on Gracie's head, controlling the position. Colombu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Colombu has a closed guard, preventing Gracie from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie won't allow Colombu to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Colombu can do anything to dispel that myth. Gracie wants to control from the top but Colombu keeps moving. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mosby. Mosby is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gracie controlling from the full mount. Mosby working to try and regain half guard.
Gracie is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mosby can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gracie looking to control but Mosby is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ergazakis as he jumps to the side. Ergazakis tries to counter by closing the distance. Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ergazakis's waist but Ergazakis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side. Ergazakis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head. Gracie has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring) in the buildup to the fight.#KD2# Ergazakis drops Gracie with a left and a right! Oh, Gracie is hurt - Ergazakis dives into side control looking to finish!
#CUT2# It looks like Nicolas Gracie has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gracie is trying to control but can't.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Ergazakis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ergazakis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gracie punching from the bottom.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Gracie avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ergazakis. Ergazakis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. #SUB2# Ergazakis wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

#SUB2# Ergazakis has hold of Gracie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gracie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Gracie is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Ergazakis screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

#R1# Veigne swings and misses with a shot to the body#TD2# and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Veigne! #SUB2# Gracie has an Americana. Veigne didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gracie is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gracie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nicolas Gracie! Nicolas Gracie is the new light heavyweight champion! Nicolas Gracie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. In defeat, Lucas Veigne stepped up to the mic, saying 'I am so sorry to all my fans. I will win next time!'.
