Markkanen lands with a straight right. Mundi didn't see that one coming. Markkanen cracks Mundi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mundi misses with an uppercut
and Markkanen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mundi throws a looping overhand right but Markkanen ducks down to avoid it. Mundi looks to land a right hand but Markkanen moved out of range. Markkanen misses with a takedown attempt and Mundi counters with a stiff right hand. #CUT# It looks like Eemeli Markkanen has been cut.#TD2# Markkanen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Markkanen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#SUB2# Markkanen swings around for an armbar but Mundi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Markkanen's guard. Mundi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Markkanen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Red jabs at Markkanen's body. Markkanen fails with the takedown.#CL2# Red moves into the clinch successfully.
Red keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Markkanen's efforts to push away. Red looks to throw an elbow but misses. Markkanen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Red misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Markkanen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Markkanen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Red fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eemeli Markkanen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Red uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Markkanen. Red is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. No luck for Markkanen with that takedown attempt. Red has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Red tries a head kick but it misses.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Red has cracked Markkanen with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Red lands another huge swinging hook and Markkanen tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Markkanen, before Red can land any more shots!

Markkanen dives in and grabs Fertus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fertus pushes down on Markkanen's head and hops out. Fertus unleashes a big counter combination but Markkanen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Markkanen misses with a takedown attempt - Fertus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Fertus looks like he wants to counter punch here. Markkanen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#CUT2# It looks like Eemeli Markkanen has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fertus connects with a body shot that sends Markkanen's belly button to the back. Fertus turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Fertus misses the shot to the body.
