But no joy. Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch but Frettish swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Frettish tries to clinch there but Alvarez circles away.

#R1##TD2# Finyard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Finyard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Finyard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. You can see the frustration on Frettish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Finyard trying to control the position but Frettish is working away. Finyard cracks Frettish with a big right hand but Frettish just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Finyard tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Finyard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Finyard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Frettish crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barristan - the referee stops the clock and Frettish gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barristan. Frettish manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Barristan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Barristan throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Frettish has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight. Crunch! Barristan slams his shin into Frettish's torso. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Frettish crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barristan - the referee stops the clock and Frettish gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barristan. Frettish manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
