We've been informed that Jacobs has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Bones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Jacobs keeps the fight on the outside. Jacobs stuns Bones with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Bones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. An attempted straight right counter from Bones misses the target. A bone on bone clash there as Bones blocks the leg kick.
Bones wants to slow Jacobs down by chopping away at his legs. Bones misses with a wild body shot. Bones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jacobs might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bones haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. As Jacobs tries to get set, Bones tries to push him back and clinch up but Jacobs manages to avoid the attempt. Bones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jacobs swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bones tries to bum rush Jacobs with a series of wild strikes but Jacobs uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bones tries to counter by clinching up but Jacobs breaks away and moves out of range. Jacobs doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jacobs takes a swing at Bones's ribcage but misses. Bones is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Jacobs throws a big shot that misses. Bones takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jacobs or perhaps it was just good defense by Bones, which made it look bad.

Bones tries to score with a low kick but Vurny moves his leg out of the way. A jab from Vurny misses. Bones unleashes a big counter combination but Vurny bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Vurny stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bones. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bones lands a jab to Vurny's midsection. That was a close second round but I would say that Aldo Vurny will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Bones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bones wants to control from the top but Lambert keeps moving. Bones chips away with some ground and pound. Bones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lambert avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. #R1# Sloppy strikes from Chuvalo. Those never looked like landing. Chuvalo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Chuvalo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bones circles away quickly and effectively. Bones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Chuvalo throws a left and a right that both miss
#TD2# and Bones counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bones prevents Chuvalo from getting back to his feet. Bones cracks Chuvalo with a solid left hand. Chuvalo controls Bones momentarily but Bones frees himself. Chuvalo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chuvalo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Bones with a nice head shot there. Chuvalo wants to sweep here but Bones controlling him for the moment.
