#R1# Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Buffel scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Buffel with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#CL2# Necas rushes Buffel and presses him up against the cage. Necas is trying to pull guard but Buffel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.#T1# Necas wants to take the fight to the mat but Buffel manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Necas is trying to break the clinch but Buffel is controlling him. Necas is trying to push Buffel away but Buffel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Necas wants a takedown.
Thomas Buffel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiri Necas. Buffel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Necas's efforts to push away. That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Buffel will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2##CL2# Necas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Buffel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Necas backwards. Buffel misses with a knee to the head. Necas tries for a takedown. No joy.
Necas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Buffel walks away with a smile on his face. Necas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Necas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Necas avoids a punch combination nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cierpka takes a little break here. #R1##CL2# Necas instigates a clinch. #TD2# Necas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaufmann uses from the top position. Necas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kaufmann controls the pace. Kaufmann could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kaufmann stopping the sweep attempt from Necas. Necas keeping full guard, as Kaufmann tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Necas has his hands on Kaufmann's head, controlling the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Necas wants to sweep but no luck. #T1# Kaufmann has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Necas is proving hard to escape from. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aaron Kaufmann. Well Necas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
