Garibaldi throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Garibaldi looks to score with a jab to the body but Mendez is just out of range. A big right from Mendez misses. Mendez throws an off balance right hand
and Garibaldi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Garibaldi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mendez. Garibaldi throws a body kick, spinning off balance enabling Mendez to counter with a crisp jab. Mendez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez misses with a hook. Vermeulen ducked under it nicely. Mendez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Vermeulen lands a jab to Mendez's midsection. Declan dips to his left and cracks Mendez with an uppercut! Declan lands with a shot to the body. #TD# Declan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mendez is staying active underneath Declan, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Declan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Mendez is looking to control Declan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mendez avoid being mounted? Declan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mendez can do anything to dispel that myth. Freitag throwing strikes but missing. Mendez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Mendez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Mendez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Vicious Striking.
