Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dayle Oaks and Sergei Gunines. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Dayle Oaks! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Sergei Gunines! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Gunines doesn't succeed with the takedown and Oaks counters by clinching up. Oaks has Gunines pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Oaks pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gunines tumbling to the mat - Oaks dives into Gunines's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Oaks (2) vs (0) Gunines The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oaks tries to free his leg and advance position but Gunines is retaining full guard. Oaks trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunines is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gunines manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oaks manages to get himself to full guard.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Oaks (2) vs (2) Gunines Gunines's corner is telling him to maintain position. Oaks keeping moving, preventing Gunines from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oaks looking for a sweep. Not yet Oaks, not yet. Gunines drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gunines as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Oaks screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gunines! Nice submission victory there!
