Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Provodnikov postures up and lands a big shot to Mies's brow. Provodnikov's corner is telling him to maintain position.#SUB# Mies looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Provodnikov wanted to stand there but Mies had control of the position. Mies pulls Provodnikov in close to his closed guard and prevents Provodnikov from doing any damage or advancing position. Provodnikov throws a strike but Mies rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR# Mies wants to control from the top but Provodnikov keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Provodnikov trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Provodnikov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mies is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Bonsai Club MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Mies tries to free his leg and advance position but Provodnikov is retaining full guard. Provodnikov wants to get back to his feet but Mies is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Provodnikov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Provodnikov is looking to stand up but Mies isn't so interested in that idea. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mies tries for a takedown but Provodnikov circles away easily and Provodnikov counters with a right hand to the body. #TD2# Provodnikov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Provodnikov wants to control but Mies is keeping him busy. Provodnikov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Jamal Provodnikov dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Provodnikov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mies manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Provodnikov keeps control of the position for the meantime. Mies is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

#R1# A big left from OQuinn misses. Provodnikov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from OQuinn. Provodnikov is looking for a counter combo. The fight stays on the outside here - Provodnikov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Provodnikov. OQuinn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've been informed that OQuinn has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as OQuinn sprawls well. OQuinn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Provodnikov gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Provodnikov throws a sloppy head kick and OQuinn moves out of range easily. OQuinn looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Provodnikov avoids the body shot from OQuinn.

OQuinn avoids a low kick by using good footwork. OQuinn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Provodnikov. OQuinn jabs at Provodnikov's body.#T4# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#CL2# OQuinn clinches with his opponent.

Damien OQuinn seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#BC2# OQuinn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from OQuinn in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Provodnikov with a lazy takedown attempt and OQuinn counters with a left to the body. #T1# OQuinn leaves Provodnikov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Provodnikov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Provodnikov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Provodnikov tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! OQuinn moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

#R1# Green stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Green wants it to stay on the feet. Provodnikov shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily.#TD# Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Provodnikov is trying to maintain the position but Green is very close to passing his half guard. Provodnikov has hold of Green's hands but Green slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Green has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Provodnikov is squirming around, avoiding Green's attempts to control the action. Green has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#T1##SUB# Green is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Provodnikov is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Provodnikov flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Green anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Provodnikov and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Green slips an arm under Provodnikov chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Green has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Green is squeezing on Provodnikov like an anaconda would it's prey. Provodnikov fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Thomas leaves Provodnikov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Provodnikov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Provodnikov lands with a nice combination. Thomas backs away looking to recover. Provodnikov misses with a head kick.

Provodnikov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely. Thomas fires out a quick counter leg kick but Provodnikov just manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Provodnikov darts in trying to clinch and Provodnikov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Provodnikov. Thomas feinted there with a counter leg kick. Ash Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamal Provodnikov.#T1# Thomas misses with an uppercut. Provodnikov saw that one coming. Ash Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thomas as he jumps to the side. Provodnikov fails with the takedown enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab. A nice inside leg kick there by Thomas. That's going to slow Provodnikov down. Provodnikov throws a body kick that misses. Ash Thomas is winning the standup battle so far. A slow jab from Thomas misses its intended target. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Provodnikov takes one on the button. Thomas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.#T3# Thomas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense. Provodnikov lands a jab-cross combination. Thomas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Provodnikov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Provodnikov takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Provodnikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him? Thomas throws an overhand right that drops Provodnikov like a sack of potatoes! Thomas dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
