#R1# Bernardo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bernardo closes the distance and clinches up with Whitley, looking for a takedown. Bernardo pushes Whitley against the cage but Whitley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bernardo fails with the takedown. Ron Whitley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernardo Bernardo. Bernardo walks into a straight right hand from Whitley. Bernardo doesn't succeed with the takedown#TD# and Whitley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bernardo won't be happy with that. Bernardo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Bernardo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Whitley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Whitley is chipping away with strikes.

Whitley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#SUB# Whitley is working to tighten his grip on Bernardo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bernardo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Whitley is really squeezing tight and eventually Bernardo passes out! Whitley breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

#R1##CL2# Baldo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Baldo is trying to push Whitley away but Whitley has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Whitley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baldo walks away with a smile on his face. Whitley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL2# Baldo moves into the clinch. Whitley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Whitley tries to pull guard but Baldo won't allow it.
Whitley takes a shot to the head. Whitley tries to pull guard but Baldo holds him up against the cage and eventually Whitley drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Whitley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baldo trying to stall but Whitley improves his position.
Baldo is pressed up against the cage. Whitley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Baldo down to the mat. Baldo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. #CL# Whitley moves into the clinch successfully.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitley wants to take the fight to the mat but Baldo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Baldo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Baldo is looking to break free of the clinch but Whitley has double underhooks. Whitley tries to pull guard but Baldo holds him up against the cage and eventually Whitley drops back down to his feet.

Baldo has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Palace of Pain Gym - VCL - Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.#T1# Whitley is looking to stand up but Baldo isn't so interested in that idea. Whitley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# Baldo is looking to control Whitley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Baldo avoid being mounted? Whitley takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitley lands with a punch from half guard. Whitley drops an elbow to the side of Baldo's head. #SUB# Whitley is trying to work for a kimura but Baldo is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Whitley scoring with strikes to the body and head. #SUB# Whitley seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Baldo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
