#R1# Serrano fails in his attempt to clinch. #TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Aldo. Aldo wants to stand but Serrano is controlling his arm. Serrano is trying to control Aldo's posture but Aldo avoids it. Serrano seems a little lost for a moment, as Aldo dominates the positioning. Serrano tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aldo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Serrano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo throws an elbow but Serrano slips to the side and avoids it well. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.#T1##SUB2# Aldo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aldo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Aldo throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Aldo controlling from side mount. It looks like Aldo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Serrano tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Serrano's face as Aldo controls the position. #T2##SUB2# Aldo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. #SU2# Aldo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Rodriguez is in close to Serrano's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rodriguez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodriguez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. #SUB2# Rodriguez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Serrano manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rodriguez has Serrano in his guard.#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Serrano is sitting in close to Rodriguez 's body. Rodriguez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Serrano is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Serrano is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rodriguez .

#R1# Serrano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mason sprawls well. Mason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Serrano gets slowly back to his feet.#CL# Serrano has Mason up against the cage in a clinch.
#BC# Serrano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Serrano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. #TD2# Mason shoots in and bounces Serrano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Serrano controls Mason momentarily but Mason frees himself. Mason trying to control the position from guard on top but Serrano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T1# Serrano has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Serrano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mason on the ground. Mason looking to pass the guard. Serrano tries to land a sweep but no joy. #T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Serrano trying to strike off his back.

Salvador Serrano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryan Mason is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ryan Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason connects with a high kick. #ROC2# Serrano is rocked!

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Ryan Mason! A determined Ryan Mason didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
