and Gonzales counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gonzales scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Beefcake doesn't seem bothered though. Beefcake looks to land a left hand but Gonzales moved out of range nicely. Beefcake on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Beefcake fails with the takedown and Gonzales counters with a nice uppercut. Beefcake gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gonzales. Gonzales connects with a body shot.#TD# Gonzales tries to sprawl but Beefcake drives through with a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Gonzales tries to get to full guard but Beefcake has control of the leg. Beefcake passes into side control, despite Gonzales's attempt to control the position.
Gonzales takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Beefcake lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. #T1# A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gonzales tries to buck Beefcake off but Beefcake is having none of it. Beefcake connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gonzales some visible discomfort.

Beefcake trying to control the action but Gonzales is working from the bottom. Gonzales is looking to regain half guard here but Beefcake keeps moving and retains side control. Beefcake lands a big left to the face of Gonzales, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Beefcake and another - Gonzales is out! Beefcake stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.

Gonzales works a leg free and moves into half guard. Gonzales prevents Singh from standing back up.
Gonzales wants to take a breather but Singh is having none of it. Gonzales with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Singh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzales on the ground.#SUB2# Gonzales is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Singh defends it well. #SUB2# Gonzales is working for a kimura but Singh is defending it quite comfortably.

Gonzales is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cleveland gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cabral wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Gonzales scores with a hook to the body. Cabral takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Gonzales fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A swing and a miss from Gonzales. Cabral is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gonzales. and Halftard counters with a straight right hand. Gonzales has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Gonzales changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Halftard tries to avoid it but Gonzales manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Halftard to the ground. Halftard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gonzales fails with the takedown. Gary Halftard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Gonzales.#TD2# Gonzales feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. A looping hook to the body misses from Brook. Gonzales does a little dance to reset his feet.#CL2# Gonzales clinches up with Brook and pushes him back against the cage. Brook lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Brook misses with some punches.
