Hogan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McJoe passes Hogan's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hogan tries to get to full guard but McJoe has control of the leg. Hogan won't allow McJoe to pass to mount. McJoe works his foot free and advances to mount. #SUB2# McJoe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hogan is surviving well by controlling McJoe's body position as best he can. #SUB2# McJoe looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. #SUB2# McJoe is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hogan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB2# McJoe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hogan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McJoe sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.#SUB2# McJoe looking for submissions from an awkward position here. McJoe tries to roll over but Hogan keeps him under control. McJoe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hogan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hogan's back!#SUB2# McJoe is cranking Hogan's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hogan! He's tightened the choke and Hogan is tapping out!

Hogan tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Silva trying to land knees to the body.
Silva is struggling to control the position. Silva is trying to break free. Silva is looking to control Hogan's arms but Hogan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Silva has his back to the cage. #TD2# Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hogan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Silva is pulling down on Hogan's head to control his posture. Hogan won't allow Silva to sweep him here. #T1# Silva is looking to stand up but Hogan isn't so interested in that idea. Hogan postures up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Hogan will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hogan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Silva scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hogan manages to mount him!

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with. Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. #R1# Green throws a quick inside leg kick. Hogan dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Hogan's head and hops out. Mr Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Green throws a leg kick #CL# and Hogan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hogan. Hogan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Green is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Green can't break the clinch.
#BC2# Green's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Green misses with a body shot.
#TD# Hogan gets the takedown into side control. #ES2# Green throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Green fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hogan manages to avoid it. Hogan lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Green chopping away at his opponent's legs.
