Stick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fatu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fatu trying to control the position from guard on top but Stick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB#
Stick looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening. #SUB#

Keola Fatu seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Wooden Stick was interviewed post fight and said 'There were things going into this fight I should have contemplated, but failed to do so. I must learn to evolve mentally, to learn my opponent and study the fight. I will come back stronger. '.

Stick shoots in and drives through. Koltsov sprawls well.
Koltsov has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Stick shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Koltsov's guard.
Stick slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Koltsov is trying to keep Stick in close. #SUB#
Stick thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Stick wants to control from the top but Koltsov keeps moving. #SUB#
Stick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Stick seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Stick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Koltsov's guard. #T1#

Stick quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Stick but it's paid off an Koltsov is forced to tap! Nice work by Stick.

Wooden Stick looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'It is about being clever - thinking about the angles and levels of the fight. In combat, the mind is more powerful than the body, and in this occasion, evidently, I am mentally superior to my opponent, but it was a good fight, and I thank him for it.
