#R1##TD2# Newton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Newton trying to control the position from guard on top but Coyoca is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Coyoca is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Coyoca is on top in guard.
#REVR# Coyoca scoring with punches to the head and body. Newton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Coyoca has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Coyoca trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Newton is trying to control the position but Coyoca postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coyoca makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! #R1##TD# Regal gets caught napping as Newton dives in and scores a takedown. Regal manages to retain guard. Newton looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Newton slips nicely into half guard. Newton is thwarting Regal's attempts to control the position. Newton is looking to take a break and control but Regal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Newton lands with a punch from half guard. Newton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #T1# Newton working Regal over with strikes. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Newton in particular looking to stall.#SUB# Newton is working for a submission of some sort.

#R1# Newton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Badger to score with a decent uppercut. Badger lands with an overhand left. Badger has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Newton has a takedown stuffed. Badger tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.#TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Badger. You can see the frustration on Newton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Newton is looking for a sweep. Newton avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Badger. Badger lands an elbow. Newton takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Newton is looking for a sweep. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
