#R1# No joy there for Gustafson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
West has a takedown stuffed. Gustafson looks to throw the jab but West is out of range. Gustafson jabs West to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gustafson misses with a series of wild punches.
Gustafson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Gustafson throws a right and a left that West avoids nicely. Jab from Gustafson. Gustafson throws a shot from downtown. West moves away and avoids it.#TD2# Gustafson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows West to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. West looking to control the position here, rather than advance. West throwing strikes but missing. #T1# West slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.#SU2# West decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gustafson, up you get! West staying out of range there. Alexander Gustafson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. West rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gustafson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. West tries to clinch up.#T3# A big left from Gustafson misses. Nice straight punches there by Gustafson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gustafson. Gustafson looks to throw the jab but West is out of range. Gustafson slaps away a takedown attempt from West, before circling back to the center of the mat. An attempted straight right counter from Gustafson misses the target.#TD2# West gets a double leg takedown into Gustafson's guard. West slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gustafson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Gustafson is breathing heavily. West remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. West trying to control the position but Gustafson is working away. #T4# West passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gustafson! West with the ground and pound from mount. West looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB2# West working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Gustafson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips West off and cradles Gustafson's limp body as West celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). John West! After winning the bout, John West thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

#R1# Date moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.#CUT# It looks like John West has been cut. Date defends well against a solid takedown attempt from West. Sloppy strikes from West. Those never looked like landing. West misses with a series of wild punches.
Date showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from West.
#KD# Date lands a big right hand that sends West crashing to the mat! Date stays standing though and waves West back to his feet!#ROC# West is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! West shoots and misses and Date counters with a big left hand that crumples West! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

#R1# West is looking to clinch but Durrant is avoiding it.
West throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Durrant tries to counter it with a takedown but West pushes his down on his head and steps out.#TD2# Durrant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in West's guard. West working a defensive guard but Durrant passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durrant moves into full mount! West won't be happy about that! Durrant controlling from the full mount. West has given up his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West tries to escape but Durrant has the hooks in and won't let him break free. West trying to control the hands but Durrant breaks the grip. #T1# Durrant controls the position. Durrant is not going to allow West to sit and survive in this position. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.#SUB2# Durrant has both hooks in and is working for a choke. West is in real trouble here. Durrant gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, West is tapping out! Durrant wins by rear naked choke!
