The Notourious has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Thomas finds it's way round the side to connect with The Notourious's head. An inside leg kick from The Notourious misses. A looping hook to the body misses from The Notourious. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet. A quick step to the side and Thomas tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.#CL2# Thomas tries to keep at a distance but The Notourious has taken the fight into the clinch. The Notourious is stalling here.
Thomas tries to work over The Notourious's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Thomas is trying to pull guard but The Notourious has him pressed against the cage. The Notourious is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Thomas is defending well. Thomas looking to stall.

We've been told by Thomas's head coaches at Dave's Dumb Belles that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Thomas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The Notourious takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

#R1# Thomas thows a left - swing and a miss! Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Thomas throws out a counter right but Johnson avoids it with no problem.#TD# A momentary lapse in concentration from Thomas enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thomas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. #SUB# Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Thomas is adopting a defensive guard. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monsoon throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Thomas throws a hook but Monsoon blocks it. Thomas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Monsoon doesn't seem bothered though. Monsoon takes a body punch but keeps moving. Monsoon misses with a hook. The fighters circling - Thomas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monsoon takes one to the chin there. Thomas misses with a straight right. Monsoon tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Thomas manages to circle out of the way. Thomas closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. #T1# Monsoon throws a right and a left that both miss. Thomas looks to throw the jab but Monsoon is out of range. Monsoon half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Thomas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That was a close round but I would say that JoJo Monsoon will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. and Thomas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Thomas shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A lazy left from Thomas finds it's target. Acosta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas. Acosta with a nice cross. Acosta on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
