Shamarov is fighting to break John's control of his arms but John is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

John has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Shamarov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.#BC#
John breaks from the clinch.
Cenk John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamarov throws a series of punches but John avoids them all with ease.
An inside leg kick from John misses.
John shoots and misses
and John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Shamarov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
John throws a hook but Shamarov avoids it easily.

John closes the distance looking to clinch
and Shamarov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Shamarov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shamarov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps John's head backwards.

John tries to close the distance and clinch but Shamarov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
John is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shamarov is looking for the big counter here.
Shamarov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
John seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.#T4#
Shamarov tries to close the distance and clinch up but John swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fighters circle, before John throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Shamarov's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! John lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Meese throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shamarov is looking for the big counter here.
Shamarov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Meese thuds his right hand into Shamarov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Meese misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shamarov.
And Shamarov responds with a good body kick, but Meese manages to step out the way in time.
Meese comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shamarov wants to clinch up but Meese keeps it at a distance.
Meese misses with a double jab.
Shamarov is looking for the big counter here.
Meese looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shamarov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Meese looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shamarov defending well as Meese loads up on a big left hand.
Meese sets himself, and Shamarov steps forward looking for the clinch! Meese avoids it this time.#KD#
Oooooh!!! Meese has knocked Shamarov down with a huge combo! Meese steps away and waves a wobbly Shamarov back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC#

It looks like Vinkel Shamarov has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shamarov has his takedown stuffed
and Meese counters with a right hand from hell and Shamarov is out cold! A vicious knockout!

During a confident post fight interview, Georges Meese thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

Shamarov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tanlagu.
Tanlagu looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tanlagu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Shamarov shoots in but no luck this time.
Tanlagu has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Shamarov.
Tanlagu wants to clinch.
Despite the aggression on Shamarov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Tanlagu fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tanlagu goes for a double leg but Shamarov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shamarov continues to drive forward.
Tanlagu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shamarov as he avoids it easily.
Shamarov unleashes a big counter combination but Tanlagu bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Tanlagu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD2#
Shamarov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanlagu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tanlagu is looking to get back to his feet here but Shamarov is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tanlagu's back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tanlagu is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near. #T1##SUB2#
Shamarov is working for a rear naked choke. Tanlagu is not defending it well and Shamarov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Tanlagu refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Tanlagu's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vinkel Shamarov!
