#R1# Blanchard is looking to clinch but Bennett is avoiding it.
Blanchard dives in for a single leg takedown but Bennett sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bennett throws a right and a left that Blanchard avoids nicely. Blanchard shoots in but no luck this time. Bennett looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Both fighters circling a little - Bennett finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Bennett is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Blanchard. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blanchard. Ryan Bennett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Blanchard. Blanchard slips under a jab.#CL# Bennett pushes Blanchard up against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blanchard lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Bennett lands with a short shot to the head. #BC# Bennett manages to break the clinch.
#T1# Blanchard shoots for a double leg takedown but Bennett sprawls well. He's pushed Blanchard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Blanchard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Blanchard digs a good body shot into Bennett's ribs.#CL# Bennett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blanchard, pushing him back against the cage.#BC2# Blanchard breaks from the clinch.
#CL# Bennett clinches. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Bennett throws a knee to the head but misses.
Blanchard tries to pull guard but Bennett won't allow it.
Blanchard is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bennett is keeping busy.#TD2# Blanchard ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blanchard no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. #T2# Blanchard wants to hit a switch here but Bennett passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Blanchard there! Bennett landing shots from mount. Blanchard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bennett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Blanchard is in a horrible position here. Bennett smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bennett lands a big shot there that rocks Blanchard but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bennett controlling from the full mount. The referee warns Blanchard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
#T3# Blanchard tries to lock up and control but Bennett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bennett landing shots from mount. #ROC# Blanchard is rocked! Bennett with shots to the head and body - Blanchard looks very uncomfortable down there. Blanchard is still in real trouble! Can Bennett finish him? Bennett postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Blanchard badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Bennett around the waist but Bennett pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Bennett is the winner by TKO! Bennett jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Bennett! Jacob Blanchard was interviewed post fight and said 'Ill do better...'.
