Hinton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #CL2# and Brown holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hinton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
#BC2# Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#TD2# Brown closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hinton to the mat! Hinton manages to get full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Brown wants to control from the top but Hinton keeps moving. #ES# Hinton kicks Brown off and gets to his feet. #TD2# Brown feints and as Hinton raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brown wants to control from the top but Hinton keeps moving. #T1##SUB2# Brown is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hinton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hinton has escaped and now he's on top! #REVR# Hinton is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hinton postures up in Brown's guard and throws a big left but Brown blocks it. Brown looking to control.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hinton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hinton sitting in guard here, content to control. Brown trying to control the position.
#T2# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hinton wants to get up but he can't break Brown's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SUB2# Brown had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hinton defends it easily. Hinton connects with a couple of short punches. Hinton works over Brown with some ground and pound from guard. Brown is trying to control the position but Hinton postures up. #SU# Hinton gets to his feet - Brown follows without any prompting. Brown stops Hinton from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown stopping the sweep attempt from Hinton. Hinton keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. #T4##SUB# Brown looking to improve position, pressing down on Hinton's thigh with his hand. Hinton seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Brown paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Brown's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hinton picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

#R1# Hinton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cruz circles away. Cruz throws a series of punches but Hinton avoids them all with ease. Hinton takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hinton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cruz lands with a shot to the body. Hinton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hinton really is a fat lump. Hinton is breathing heavily. Cruz lands the left hand.#CUT2# It looks like Don Hinton has been cut. Cruz lands a right hook to the body.
Cruz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hinton at a distance.
A shot to the liver by Cruz. Beautiful body shot. Cruz lands a body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cruz lands with a nice body punch. Hinton takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hinton takes a shot to the body in his stride.

#T1# Cruz works Hinton's body with a nice hook. Cruz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Cruz lands with a straight right. Hinton didn't see that one coming. Cruz is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hinton rather than just go for the knockout. Cruz lands a slapping body shot.
Hinton is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Cruz just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Hinton has gone limp and this one is over!

#R1##TD2# Hinton gets caught napping as Meedrez dives in and scores a takedown. Hinton manages to retain guard.#SUB# Hinton is looking for a triangle but Meedrez pushes his legs off easily.
Meedrez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Meedrez wants to stand but Hinton has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Meedrez is pushing down on Hinton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hinton is fighting to maintain full guard but Meedrez has managed to sneak the leg through. Hinton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meedrez stalling away here and it's allowed Hinton to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Meedrez looking to sit in guard and control but Hinton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR##T1# Hinton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Meedrez is proving hard to escape from. #SUB2# Meedrez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hinton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Hinton trying to stand up but can't free himself from Meedrez's guard. Hinton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#SUB2# Meedrez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
#T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Meedrez wants to sweep but no luck. Meedrez wants to improve his position but instead Hinton has moved into half guard.
#SU# Hinton escapes and gets back to his feet. #CL# Hinton closes the distance and pushes Meedrez back into the cage. Hinton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Meedrez smiles and moves away.
#TD2# Meedrez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Meedrez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hinton defending well though. #T3# Meedrez prevents Hinton from improving his position. Hinton is trying to stand up here but Meedrez is controlling him well. Meedrez is trying to control the action in half guard but Hinton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meedrez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hinton haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Meedrez works over Hinton with some ground and pound from guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meedrez advances to half guard. Meedrez is keen to just control but Hinton is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Aaron Meedrez will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2##CL# Hinton closes the distance and clinches. Meedrez stalls. #TD2# Meedrez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Meedrez manages to end up in side control. Meedrez taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hinton prevents Meedrez from moving into mount. Meedrez lands a few punches from side control.#CUT2# It looks like Don Hinton has been cut.#T1##SUB2# Meedrez tries for a kimura but Hinton is defending well. Hinton avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Meedrez. Meedrez has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hinton! Meedrez controlling from the full mount. Hinton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.#SU2# Meedrez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. #CL2# Meedrez forces Hinton back against the cage and clinches.#TD2# Meedrez gets a trip takedown into half guard. Hinton scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Meedrez manages to mount him!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hinton tries to reverse the position but Meedrez maintains control. Meedrez controlling from mount. Meedrez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#T3# Hinton is desperately trying to improve his position but Meedrez has a good base and remains in mount. Meedrez trying to control but he's not successful this time. Meedrez lands a nice shot to the head. #CUT2# Don Hinton's cut is getting worse. Aaron Meedrez has got the better of the ground game so far.#SUB2# Meedrez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hinton has worked his arm free - good work by Hinton!
#T4# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.#SU2# Meedrez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. #TD2# Meedrez scores with a takedown into Hinton's guard.#ES# Hinton has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Meedrez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#TD2# Meedrez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hinton did well to prevent Meedrez getting side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Meedrez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Don Hinton's cut. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. #R3# Hinton tries to clinch up and Meedrez counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hinton! Oh Hinton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Meedrez looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Hinton covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
