He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Triacylglycerol to score with a decent uppercut. Triacylglycerol ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Triacylglycerol swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Burns. Triacylglycerol moves into range and connects with a jab. Burns takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Burns shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Triacylglycerol but Triacylglycerol pushes him off and we're back to square one. Triacylglycerol stuffs the takedown. Triacylglycerol steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Triacylglycerol is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burns. Burns feinted with a counter takedown. Triacylglycerol throws a body shot but no joy. Burns with a nice cross. Burns has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brent Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. #R1# Burns throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pettaway sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pettaway swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Pettaway slaps away a takedown attempt from Burns, before circling back to the center of the mat. Burns avoids the body shot from Pettaway.
Pettaway uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burns. Burns throws a lazy right hand but Pettaway sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Brent Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burns moves out of range of the leg kick from Pettaway. No luck with that takedown attempt from Burns. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD2# Pettaway gets caught flat footed, as Burns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pettaway is pulling down on Burns's head. It's preventing any offense from Burns, at least for the moment. We've been hearing reports that Burns has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A jab from Pake finds it's way through Burns's defenses. Burns on the wrong end of a nice hook. Burns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pake looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Burns avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pake connects with a right hand. Burns shakes it off. Zurdur seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Burns fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zurdur as he avoids it easily. Burns lands a body shot.
