#R1##CL2# Thornton has managed to clinch.
Thornton tries to land a knee to the head but Burch blocks with his arms.
Burch jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thornton walks away with a smile on his face. Burch gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Burch moves out of range of the body kick from Thornton.
#TD2# Thornton feints and as Burch raises his hands in defense, Thornton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Thornton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burch is proving hard to escape from. Thornton wants to stand and escape but instead Burch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton is wriggling around but Burch manages to pass to half guard.
Thornton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Burch scores with a couple of nice shots.#T1# Burch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Burch looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Burch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#ES2# Thornton kicks Burch off and gets back to his feet. Burch checks a leg kick nicely. Thornton throws a head kick but Burch moves out of range.
Burch fails to land with a series of punches.
Francis Thornton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Thornton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Burch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Thornton is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
#T2# Burch regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Thornton is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Burch has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Thornton is looking to defend but Burch has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Thornton! Burch pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Thornton taps out and this one is all over!
