Vaughn has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Habsburg after a bit of a struggle. Vaughn swings wildly with an uppercut but Habsburg uses good head movement to avoid it. #BC2# Habsburg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Habsburg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vaughn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Habsburg throws a right and a left that both miss. Habsburg clobbers Vaughn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. #CUT2# It looks like Dillon Vaughn has been cut. Habsburg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. #BC2# Pettis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pettis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vaughn was well out of range. Poor timing from Pettis. Vaughn half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.#CL2# Pettis rushes Vaughn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Vaughn drops down looking for a counter takedown but McGregor sprawls and moves away.#TD2# Vaughn gets caught napping as McGregor dives in and scores a takedown. Vaughn manages to retain guard. McGregor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaughn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Vaughn being controlled here, momentarily. Vaughn wants to sweep here but McGregor controlling him for the moment. #T1# McGregor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vaughn struggling a bit here. You can see the frustration on Vaughn's face as Phoenix controls the position. You can see the frustration on Vaughn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Phoenix is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vaughn will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaughn is trying to get back to half guard. Phoenix is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Vaughn's shoulder. #R1# Hiwatari throws a combination that misses #TD# and Vaughn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hiwatari's guard. Vaughn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vaughn postures up and lands a big shot to Hiwatari's brow. Hiwatari not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vaughn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vaughn engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaughn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hiwatari's head.#T1# Vaughn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment.
