#R1# Atgeirrsson with a poor takedown #CL# and Woodward counters by moving into the clinch. Woodward letting Atgeirrsson take a breather here. Atgeirrsson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Woodward just stands there and leans against the cage. Atgeirrsson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Woodward pulls his leg out and moves away.
David Woodward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hrafnir Atgeirrsson. Atgeirrsson misses with a combination
#TD# and Woodward counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Atgeirrsson taking some punishment here, with Woodward in his half guard. Woodward takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woodward working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Woodward connects with a nice short shot to Atgeirrsson's temple. Woodward seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Atgeirrsson is trying to control but can't.
Woodward landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
