Lee throws a series of punches but Richards moves out of range. #TD2# Richards closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee did well to prevent Richards getting side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Richards working over Lee with some ground and pound. Lee looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.#SUB2# Richards seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Richards connects with a nice short shot to Lee's temple. #T1# Richards lands with a punch from half guard. Richards controlling the action here. Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. #KD2# and Shepherd counters with a crisp one two that drops Lee! Shepherd thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Lee to his feet! Lee is in big trouble! Lee looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Shepherd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes. Shepherd dives in for a single leg takedown but Lee sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.#CL2# Shepherd pushes Lee up against the cage in a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Shepherd tries to circle away but Lee has him pinned against the cage. Lee keeps control of Shepherd as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Shepherd is looking to take this one to the mat. Charles Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Layne Shepherd.#TD2# Shepherd decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Shepherd is adopting a defensive guard.#T1# Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.#ES2# Shepherd has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet.
