Stephens tries to counter with a takedown but Bowman is quick to defend against it. Stephens tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bowman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stephens somewhat. Bowman is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Bowman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bowman wants it to stay on the feet.#TD# Stephens fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bowman sprawls well initially but Stephens persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bowman looks like he's trying to stand up.

#R1##TD2# Kjaber decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.#SUB# Kjaber moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Stephens. Stephens tries to buck Kjaber off but Kjaber is having none of it. Stephens is working hard here to advance position. Kjaber controls the position from side control.#SUB2# Kjaber is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stephens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #SUB2# Kjaber tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stephens is being controlled here. Stephens takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kadyrov throws a big shot that misses. Kadyrov keeps the fight on the outside. Kadyrov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stephens dives in for a single leg takedown but Kadyrov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Stephens tries to clinch up. Kadyrov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Stephens misses with a takedown attempt and Kadyrov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kadyrov throws a right hand that Stephens ducks under and follows up with a left that Stephens also avoids with ease. Stephens tries to clinch there but Kadyrov circles away.

#T1# Kadyrov throws a shot from downtown. Stephens moves away and avoids it. Kadyrov throws a lazy right hand but Stephens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kadyrov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kadyrov lands a nice shot that snaps Stephens's head back.
