Akenzua trying to control the action but Banchamek is working from the bottom. Akenzua trying to pass the guard but Banchamek defending well. Akenzua sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1##SUB# Akenzua is looking for a kimura here.
#SUB# Akenzua seems to be working for a kimura but Banchamek defends the submission attempt. Akenzua seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. #T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.#SUB# Akenzua is trying to work for a kimura but Banchamek is defending well.

Akenzua seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Banchamek for as long as he can get away with. Akenzua continues to stall. #R1##TD2# Hoffmeier changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Banchamek looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Banchamek looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Banchamek is trying to escape the position but Hoffmeier is controlling the position. #SU2# Hoffmeier decides to stand back up. Hoffmeier steps back and let's Banchamek get back to his feet. Hoffmeier scores with a head kick.

Hoffmeier looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. #T1# Hoffmeier uses his free foot to push down on Banchamek's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Banchamek. Hoffmeier unloading with bombs! Hoffmeier putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Banchamek is trying desperately to improve position. Hoffmeier lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Hoffmeier looking to finish Banchamek with some ground and pound. This is bad for Banchamek!#T2# Hoffmeier scoring with strikes but Banchamek is staying in there. Newman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Newman lands with a hook. Banchamek tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Newman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Banchamek on the side of the head. Newman cracks Banchamek with a good jab. Banchamek takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dennis Newman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Newman throws a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Newman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Newman lands with an uppercut that bounces Banchamek off the cage and back into range.#ROC# Banchamek is rocked! Newman connects with the punch. Banchamek is still on wobbly legs! Can Newman finish him? Newman lands with a shot to the body. Newman cracks Banchamek with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. #R1# The fighters circle momentarily. Kosaryov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kosaryov scores with a jab. Banchamek wants to clinch. Banchamek tries to clinch but Kosaryov moves out of range. Banchamek fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Banchamek moves to clinch but Kosaryov breaks away and Kosaryov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Banchamek tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kosaryov counters with a right hand to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good exchange - Kosaryov coming out on top. Kosaryov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kosaryov throws a front kick aimed at Banchamek's knee but Banchamek avoids it well. #T1# Banchamek thows a body kick. Kosaryov tries to catch it but that hurt him. Kosaryov misses with a body kick. Kosaryov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiet Banchamek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Banchamek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kosaryov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kosaryov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kosaryov wants it to stay on the feet. Banchamek lands a high kick!

Banchamek wanted to stand there but Kosaryov had control of the position. Kosaryov tries to land a sweep but no joy. #T3# Kosaryov is pulling down on Banchamek's head to control his posture. Banchamek passes into half guard. Kosaryov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banchamek. Kosaryov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kosaryov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Banchamek is defended easily by Kosaryov. Kosaryov looks for the body kick but Banchamek saw that one coming. #T4# Banchamek tries to bum rush Kosaryov with a series of wild strikes but Kosaryov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kosaryov connects with a jab. Good work by Banchamek as he checks the leg kick. Banchamek tries to clinch but Kosaryov is having none of it. Kosaryov lands the left hand. Kosaryov sizes up Banchamek with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Banchamek with a poor takedown and Kosaryov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Banchamek on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kosaryov connects with the punch.#TD# Banchamek throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kosaryov was covering up waiting for the punch and Banchamek finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kosaryov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
