#R1# Alves shoots in and drives through. Tyler sprawls well. Alves shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Alves avoids the body shot from Tyler.
Tyler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it. Tyler throws a body shot but no joy. Tyler misses with a body shot.
Alves shoots in for a takedown but Tyler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Alves fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alves takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
#CUT2# It looks like Igor Alves has been cut. Alves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tyler cracks Alves with a right hand to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyler ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Alves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
#TD# Alves changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tyler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tyler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Tyler regains full guard. Nicely done. #T1# Tyler looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tyler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard. #REVB# Tyler won't allow Alves to sweep him here. Tyler advances position into side control! Both fighters take a look at the clock.#SUB2# Tyler tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyler advances to full mount. #T2# Tyler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Alves throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Tyler sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Alves on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alves tries to get out of the position.#T3# Let's hope that Tyler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but Tyler has a good base and remains in mount. Tyler controlling from the full mount. #SUB2# Tyler is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Alves is surviving well by controlling Tyler's body position as best he can. Tyler looking to control and managing it successfully. #SUB2# Alves tries to improve his position but Tyler has taken his back! Tyler has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Alves tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Tyler pushes Alves away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
