#R1# Handerson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shogun is fending him off so far but Handerson persists. Nope, Shogun circles away and we're back to standing. Handerson shoots in for a takedown but Shogun shows good takedown defense. Handerson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shogun has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Handerson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shogun as he jumps to the side. Akira Shogun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gil Handerson. Handerson shoots in for a takedown but Shogun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Handerson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Handerson dives in for a single leg takedown but Shogun sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shogun feinted with a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Shogun drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.#SUB# Shogun is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Handerson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Shogun just content to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##SUB# Shogun looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shogun is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Handerson's shoulder. That is not cool. #SUB# Shogun is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Handerson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Handerson dodges the ground and pound from Shogun. Shogun creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Handerson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. #SUB# Shogun is working to tighten his grip on Handerson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Handerson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Shogun is really squeezing tight and eventually Handerson passes out! Shogun breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
