#R1# Buckner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Russell wants to clinch up but Buckner keeps it at a distance. Russell fails with a takedown attempt from distance. It looked like Buckner was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Russell . Buckner really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...#CL# Buckner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Russell , pushing him back against the cage. Buckner avoiding damage as Russell throws knees to the body.

Buckner changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Russell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Russell throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Buckner's head.#CUT2# It looks like Graig Buckner has been cut. Buckner really is a fat lump. Russell goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Russell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
#CL# Buckner gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Russell throws a knee to the head but misses.
Buckner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Russell to keep the fight standing. Buckner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Russell after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Graig Buckner. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Buckner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Buckner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#ES# Buckner has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Russell is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Buckner tries for a takedown but Russell manages to get underhooks.
#T1# The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Buckner takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Russell missing with knees to the body.
#TD# Buckner jumps guard and drags Russell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. #ES# Buckner manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Russell fails in his attempt to clinch. Russell lands a brutal head kick. Buckner looks out on his feet and Russell throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Adam Russell ! Adam Russell got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
