#R1# Henry throws a body kick that misses and Quick cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Quick scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.#CUT2# It looks like Emile Henry has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Quick misses the target. Henry shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quick defends it nicely. Quick takes a swing at Henry's ribcage but misses. Henry tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Quick manages to circle out of the way. Henry definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Henry goes for a double leg but Quick avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Quick continues to drive forward. Henry fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emile Henry. That's going to take a lot out of him. A lazy left from Quick finds it's target. Emile Henry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quick throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Henry takes a jab right on the kisser.
Henry doesn't manage to clinch there - Quick circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Henry. #T1# Henry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Henry is looking to clinch. Henry sets himself, and Quick steps forward looking for the clinch! Henry avoids it this time. Henry lands a leg kick that knocks Quick off balance momentarily. Henry connects with a high kick. Henry avoids a punch combination nicely.
Henry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quick moves away. Horrible takedown attempt by Henry or perhaps it was just good defense by Quick, which made it look bad. Quick throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Henry is breathing heavily. Henry gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Henry moves forwards but Quick connects with a nice, crisp jab.#KD2# Quick lands a big right hand that sends Henry crashing to the mat! Quick stays standing though and waves Henry back to his feet!#ROC2# Henry is rocked!#T2# This has been an exciting period of action! Quick leaves Henry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Oh Henry is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Good leg kick by Henry there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Henry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quick swats him away and circles back towards the center. Henry seems to have got his legs back now. Henry misses with a hook
and Quick counters with a nice uppercut. Quick drops Henry with a straight right hand, right on the button! Quick follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Quick! Ricky Quick gave a mention to Voodoo Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
