White tries for a takedown but Zao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! White shoots in and drives through. Zao sprawls well. AJ Zao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dana White. White fails with a takedown attempt. A little feinted left hand from Zao on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Zao sizes up White with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. White shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zao but Zao pushes him off and we're back to square one. Zao connects with a nice cross there... White is looking wobbly and Zao recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send White to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Zao jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

#R1##TD# Makaaja shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in White's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB2# White isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Makaaja stacks White on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Makaaja! The referee asks Makaaja politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Makaaja prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makaaja passes to full mount! That's big trouble for White! White working to try and regain half guard.
Makaaja takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. We've been hearing good reports from Makaaja's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. White can't escape the position.

#R1# White fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dana White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. White has a takedown stuffed. George connects with a solid leg kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from White is defended easily by George. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dana White. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking body kick lands there for George. George has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from George. White shrugs it off though. White shoots in looking for a takedown. George tries to sprawl out of it but White keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. George manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. George scores with a head kick.
#CUT2# It looks like Dana White has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. White on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A hook to the body from Lagos.
