#R1# Pallukka shoots in but no luck this time. It seemed like Vovchanchyn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Pallukka shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vovchanchyn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pallukka shoots for a takedown but Vovchanchyn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Despite the aggression on Vovchanchyn's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antero Pallukka. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pallukka shoots in but Vovchanchyn avoids the takedown attempt easily.#TD# Pallukka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vovchanchyn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pallukka is working away from the top position though. Pallukka has a closed guard, preventing Vovchanchyn from standing up. Vovchanchyn is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Pallukka is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pallukka holds on and takes a little breather. #SU2# Vovchanchyn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pallukka to his feet. Vovchanchyn stuffs the takedown. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Vovchanchyn! But no joy.#CL# Pallukka rushes Vovchanchyn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.#TD# Pallukka gets control of Vovchanchyn's arms and successfully pulls guard.
