Michael prevents Patterson from getting back to his feet. Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Michael trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom. Michael trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michael wants to control from the top but Patterson keeps moving. That was a close second round but I would say that Hubert Patterson will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Patterson holds on to Danielson's head and controls the position momentarily. Patterson defending against the ground and pound. Patterson being controlled for a moment. Danielson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Patterson pushes Danielson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Danielson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Patterson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Danielson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danielson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working. Patterson pushes Danielson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Danielson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Danielson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Patterson some visible discomfort.

Switch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Patterson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Switch seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. #ES# Patterson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet.
