#R1# Jefferson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cavalcante circles away. Cavalcante looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jefferson shoots in looking for a takedown. Cavalcante tries to sprawl out of it but Jefferson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cavalcante manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cavalcante throws a sloppy head kick #TD2# so Jefferson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jefferson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Cavalcante keeping moving, preventing Jefferson from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jefferson is stalling in the full guard. #T1# Jefferson passes Cavalcante 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Jefferson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Jefferson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cavalcante might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jefferson connects with a nice short shot to Cavalcante 's temple. #SUB2# Jefferson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. #SUB2# Jefferson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cavalcante sees it coming and defends easily. Jefferson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.#T3# Nice strikes from Jefferson there. #SUB2# Jefferson seems to be working for a kimura but Cavalcante defends the submission attempt. Cavalcante looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jefferson in particular looking to stall.#SUB2# Jefferson is working for a submission of some sort.
Jefferson moves nicely into side control. #T4# Jefferson lands a decent elbow from side control. Jefferson happy to just control the position for now. #SUB2# Jefferson has an Americana. Cavalcante didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jefferson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jefferson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ramone Jefferson! A determined Ramone Jefferson didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!

#R1# Knight lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Knight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Knight. Cavalcante tries to clinch up. A low kick from Cavalcante misses letting Knight counter with a right hand. Knight misses with a combination
#TD2# and Cavalcante counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Knight is looking to stand back up but Cavalcante counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Knight. #REVR# The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cavalcante perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #SU2# Cavalcante gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Cavalcante shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Knight counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. #T1##CL# Knight instigates a clinch. Cavalcante goes for a takedown in the clinch but Knight prevents it.
Cavalcante looks winded! Cavalcante letting Knight take a breather here. Knight can't get the takedown.
#TD# Knight jumps guard and drags Cavalcante to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Knight wants to stand and escape but Cavalcante is having none of it. Cavalcante controls from within his opponent's guard. Cavalcante pushing down on Knight's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #T2# Cavalcante keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.#SU2# Cavalcante postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Knight to stand up. Cavalcante shoots in looking for a takedown but Knight manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cavalcante 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Dyson Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Cavalcante . Knight misses with a few strikes there.
Cavalcante is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.#CL2# Cavalcante gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cavalcante changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Knight fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cavalcante takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Knight fails in his attempt to clinch. Knight shoots in and drives through. Cavalcante sprawls well.#TD2# Knight gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cavalcante to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cavalcante is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. #T4# Cavalcante trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom. Cavalcante sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Knight's guard. Cavalcante seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Knight is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Warehouse, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Knight is trying to stand back up but Cavalcante is controlling him

That was a close round but I would say that Dyson Knight will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Knight doesn't manage to clinch there - Cavalcante circles away.
Nice straight punches there by Knight. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Knight. Knight connects with a crisp jab. Knight misses with a head kick.

Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Knight wants to get back to his feet. Cavalcante uses his free foot to push down on Knight's thigh.
